Orange Scented Smoked Almonds

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almonds, raw, skin-on
  • 2 teaspoons Nielsen-Massey Pure Orange Extract
    Buy Now, divided
  • 1/2 tablespoon roasted garlic, pureed
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 springs rosemary, fresh, leaves and stalks separated
  • Wood chips, fruit varieties (cherry, apple) as needed
  • 1/2 orange peel

Directions

Combine almonds, 1 teaspoon of Nielsen-Massey Pure Orange Extract, roasted garlic, salt and rosemary leaves. Mix until garlic is fully incorporated into almonds.

Preheat smoker with desired wood chips to 225 degrees F and oven to 350 degrees F.

Add orange peel and rosemary stalks to the woodchips. Place almonds on a sheet tray or mesh basket and hot smoke for 5 minutes.

Remove from smoker and place in oven for 5-10 minutes or until nuts are dry. Let cool completely.

With a spray bottle, spray the remaining Nielsen-Massey Pure Orange Extract over the almonds.
