VANILLA
CONTINUES TO CHALLENGE THE INDUSTRY
WAUKEGAN, ILLINOIS - (January 18, 2004) - Nielsen-Massey Vanillas,
Booth #1368, supplier of premium vanillas to the retail market, continues
to be challenged by the increasing cost of vanilla. Once again, nature
has hit the delicate vanilla plantations of Madagascar, the world's
premier vanilla-producing region, with damaging result. The once promising
2004 crop was reduced to a fraction of its normal size when the vines
failed to flower. The outcome is a reduction by more than half of the
normal crop, increasing once again the price of the raw material, and
consequently, the cost to customers.
Nielsen-Massey recognizes the concerns of retailers about these extreme vanilla prices, and has done everything they can to minimize the impact of the cost increase to their customers, pledging to provide them with the very best vanillas at the very best possible price. An innovative solution has been to develop a new blended Pure Vanilla Extract that delivers all the quality and flavor that Nielsen-Massey customers have come to expect, at a lower price point. Nielsen-Massey
also continues to offer their Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla, the gold
standard of the industry, in 8 ounce and 4 ounce bottles, as well as
Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Bean Paste, with fleck of real vanilla
seeds; sugar and alcohol-free Madagascar Bourbon Pure Vanilla Powder;
and whole vanilla beans. Visit us at Booth #1368 to find out
more about Nielsen-Massey's vanilla solutions.
